Texas Vacations

Texas Vacations
When most of us think of Texas, we may think of beef, Tex-Mex, rodeos, oil, but not necessarily of the great options for Texas beach vacations. If that's you, take a closer look at Texas beaches—with 600 miles of coastline, there are certainly at least a few great stretches of sand in there somewhere!

More than a few, in fact. Texas beach vacations can comprise everything from great surfing, delicious seafood, scuba diving, golfing, and sunbathing on picturesque beaches that can rival well-known beaches in California, Florida, and elsewhere. If you happen to go there during Spring Break, you'll discover that thousands of students have discovered the charms of Texas beach vacations, just like you.

More developed beaches in Texas include the hotel-lined stretch of golden sand at Corpus Christi Beach, which has a lively nightlife and plenty of beach hotels and resorts. Stewart Beach in the city of Galveston is a family-friendly beach with the benefit of the city's amenities, while Galveston Island has some great beach parks, quaint shopping areas, and live entertainment in the summer months. East Beach on the northeastern coast of Galveston is the largest beach in the state and hosts beach parties, music concerts and other events.

Quieter beaches include Magnolia Beach and Surfside Beach, destinations that are less crowded and have laid-back lengths of golden sand, perfect for swimming, fishing, and surfing. Booking a vacation rental here instead of one of the big hotels at other Texas beaches can be a cost-effective and relaxed way to spend your vacation.
