Litchfield Beach is one of the oldest oceanfront communities in the Myrtle Beach area, inaugurated back in the 1700s. The beach is situated in an ideal location between historic Georgetown, where there are endless attractions to explore, and the entertainment and vacation capital of Myrtle Beach. Litchfield Beach is based in Georgetown County, a region home to an array of the best beaches in Myrtle Beach, including beautiful Murrells Inlet and Pawleys Island.
Litchfield Beach is about a half-hour drive from Myrtle Beach and is most frequented by an upscale crowd attracted by the quiet, natural landscape. The immediate beach is mostly home to vacation condos and houses available for rent but also has one hotel: Litchfield Beach & Golf Resort. An overview reveals a large, mid-rise resort with a sweeping pool and dual boardwalks gracing over the dunes leading way to the wide beach.
Closest to Pawleys Island, and on the south end of the beach, is South Litchfield Beach. It is most renowned for the beachfront community of Inlet Point, a private residential area edging on the coast with both residential and rental properties available. Most properties range from half-a-million to more than a million dollar estates fitted with luxury amenities including private boat docks, swimming pools, and direct beach access.
Litchfield by the Sea is set along the long, meandering stretch of ocean designated as Pawleys Island which is considered part of Litchfield Beach because of the close geographical nature of the area: officially Pawleys Island and Litchfield Beach are separate communities distinguished by a short three-plus miles. It is also a private community with vacation rentals available. The beach is very wide and provides access to both Pawleys Island Beach and North and South Litchfield Beach. Litchfield by the Sea offers vacationers scores of activities and attractions including championship golf, tennis, and close proximity to the biggest outside sculpture garden known. The nearby southern marshlands are home to a network of trails ideal for cycling, hiking, and walking.
North Litchfield Beach South Carolina is one of the best beach areas within the region. It is a close drive to Charleston, which is renowned for attractions centering around notably rich history. It is also close to Myrtle Beach where limitless entertainment and leisure opportunities, from deep-sea fishing charters to oceanfront spas, are found both oceanfront and within the off-ocean community. Especially appreciated as a family-friendly destination on the Grand Strand, North Litchfield Beach, the East Coast Greenway cycling path is a popular expanse explored by all ages. It careens through pine forests within Huntington Beach State Park, and passes by Brookgreen Sculpture Gardens, encompassed by almost 10,000 scenic acres.
North Litchfield Beach South Carolina is home to a collection of time-weather, oceanfront homes that create an air of nostalgia. A large majority of the beach houses are available as vacation rentals that are snatched up quickly from the onset of spring through late fall. Inland, a small collection of condominiums belonging to Litchfield Beach residents and supported by several shops, restaurants, and other retail outfits.
