Hilton Head Island is located three hours south of Kiawah Island and just 45 minutes from Savannah, Georgia. A semi-tropical location and upscale backdrop pair together as one the most celebrated vacations spots in the country—one that is only twelve by five miles long. Island lodging includes spa resorts, charming inns, and luxury villas and vacation homes surrounded by an incredible array of amenities. Jenkins Island, luxurious Harbour Town, and Shelter Cove are the three main areas within Hilton Head.

Jenkins Island is bounded by Hilton Head and historically rich Old Town Bluffton. Harbour Town is a spectacular setting of million-dollar beach homes and upscale marinas. The most extensive deepwater marina is Shelter Cove, a Mediterranean-style waterfront community with year-round entertainment, oceanfront dining, and shoppingm but most famous for choice access to waterfront activities such as dinner cruises, fishing charters, and boat rentals. Shelter Cove is also the portal to nature and sightseeing tours and world-renowned Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort.

The beaches of Hilton Head South Carolina meander along twelve island miles blanketed in natural sea grasses, dunes, reclining sand banks, and fringed by gentle surf. The entire beach is open to the public but much of the access is private. Public access locations to beaches including Coligny Beach Park, Driessen Beach Park, Burkes Beach, Folly Field Beach, Islanders Beach Park, and other island beaches, many which are wheelchair accessible.

Countless seaside activities greatly attribute to Hilton Head’s popularity. Recreation is at its finest here, with adventure sports like surfing, windsurfing, water skiing, and sailing. Sunset and dinner cruises, parasailing, dolphin tours, and kayaking are more top things to do. Cultural activities include concerts by the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra and events at the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina. Walking tours, art galleries, and historic sites add more entertainment value.
