Cape May has been a vacation destination for decades and the town has the Victorian architecture to prove it. If you’re planning to visit the city beaches in the summertime, you’ll need to buy a beach tag. Anyone under the age of twelve can enjoy the beach for free. The fees help pay for lifeguard service and upkeep, making these some of the cleanest and most family-friendly beaches in New Jersey.

Cove Beach and Steger’s Beach, like the other Cape May Beaches, are filled with beach chairs and umbrellas.
Rental shops and snack shops are a quick walk away, filled with all the cold drinks and sunscreen you need. You’ll also find all the gear available for fun at the beach, whether you thinking of a peaceful afternoon or an exciting tip on a jet ski.

Around the tip, the Cape May beaches along Delaware Bay feel off the beaten path. But in reality, they’re just minutes away everything. Poverty Beach is a quiet beach with white sand and waves favored by swimming and beginning surfers. Sunset Beach, to the north, is another good place to go for a swim or play a game of miniature golf.
