Maui Beach Hotels

Maui Beach Hotels
Maui vacations, as is true of Hawaii vacations in general, tend to revolve around spending time at the beach. For this reason, the Maui hotels that are found on or near the sand tend to be the most highly coveted by travelers. Among the most popular hotels are the beach resorts, and they include some of the best that you will find anywhere in the Hawaiian Islands. For those who are interested in something other than the resort experience, there are plenty of options there as well. The hotel count on Maui is quite high, and variety is pretty much the name of the game.

Kaanapali Beach Hotels

Kaanapali Beach is one of the most renowned beaches on the island of Maui. Resort development along this long, sandy stretch started back in the 1960s, and it has essentially continued ever since. Among the top Maui resorts that are found along Kaanapali Beach is the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa (pictured above). It enjoys a wonderful beach location, and guests might note that the snorkeling just out front is some of the best on the island. As for other hotels that Kaanapali visitors might add to their lists, they include the Aston Mahana at Kaanapali Resort and the Kaanapali Alii Resort. Both offer condo units that can serve as verifiable homes away from home, and the beachfront locations are hard to find fault with.

Lahaina Beach Hotels

Just south of Kaanapali is the former whaling village of Lahaina. Gone are the days when Lahaina served as a global whaling center, and tourism is now a major industry. Lahaina is regarded as the gateway to both the Kaanapali and Kapalua resort areas. Its hotels, which are often mentioned in the same breath as the Kaanapali hotels in particular, include some gems that Maui visitors won’t want to overlook. Among them is the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa. The oceanfront spa is among the resort’s main highlights, and the facilities list is about as long as they get. As for another Lahaina hotel recommendation, the Napili Surf Beach Resort is a wonderful condo complex that is known for its great beachfront location and its highly social atmosphere.

Hana Beach Hotels

Many Maui visitors who are headed to the island’s more rugged and isolated eastern side opt to stay at one of the Hana hotels. There aren’t a ton to choose from, as the area is largely undeveloped, though at least two gems are available. One is the Travaasa Hana. It sits on beautiful Hamoa Beach and offers all kinds of activities for its guests to enjoy. The other hotel of choice in Hana is the Hana Kai Maui. An oceanfront retreat, the Hana Kai overlooks black sand beaches and provides enticing condo rentals.

Wailea Beach Hotels

The Wailea Beach  resort area is one of the most upscale destinations on the island of Maui. Some of the most luxurious Maui resorts call it home, and they include the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea and the Grand Wailea. The facilities are so extensive at these first-class resorts that guests will essentially find it impossible to get bored, and virtually every service is available. If you want to pamper yourself on a Maui escape, suffice it to say that these two resorts can accommodate.

Kihei Beach Hotels

As is true of Wailea, the town of Kihei helps to attract travelers to Maui’s sun-drenched south coast. Unlike Wailea, on the other hand, Kihei is not known for its upscale edge. Instead, it is where budget-minded Maui visitors often base their accommodation searches. The condo rentals that dominate the lodging scene are very affordable on the whole, and many sit right on the beach. Among the best condo resorts in the land is the Aston Maui Hill. It costs a little more than most of the other condo properties, though the high level of quality is arguably worth the extra money. As for Kihei visitors who are interested in more standard hotels, the Maui Coast Hotel can be a good choice. It offers plenty of bang for the buck and is just a block from a terrific beach park.
