St Augustine not only offers a selection of wide, unfettered Florida beaches where you can partake in everything from windsurfing and parasailing to horseback riding and kayaking, but also endless opportunities to soak up the culture of this city, which is one of the oldest in the entire United States. Guests can expect to find an ample supply of guest accommodations in the form of hotels, motels, and a selection of vacation rentals. There are many restaurants and place to shop in town and along the coast.
St Augustine Beach
The beach that bears the city’s namesake represents her well on Anastasia Island, featuring the alluring St John’s Pier, a playground just for the kids, fishing and sport shops, a fishing pier, and that is just the beginning. You will also be treated to seemingly endless miles of white sandy coastline that is absolutely ideal for relaxing in the sun and enjoying the water. This is one beach that is wide open, so you will want to think about bringing an umbrella along if you do not feel like finding a place nearby to rent one. There are in fact places to rent gear and equipment at St Augustine beach, as well as a full complement of public facilities. Lifeguards are on duty.
