Sarasota is located along the southwestern coast of Florida, just north of Fort Myers in the Tampa Bay vicinity. The city officially includes Sarasota Bay and the islands in between this bay and the Gulf of Mexico: Longboat Key, Siesta Key, and Lido Key.
