Indian Rocks Beach

Indian Rocks Beach
Indian Rocks Beach is a popular tourist hotspot in western Florida. It is within very close proximity of the likes of Tampa Bay, Clearwater, St Petersburg, and Palm Harbor. Indian Rocks Beach Florida is specifically located on a barrier island that lies between the Intracoastal Waterway and the Gulf of Mexico. Tourism is by far the main economic driver in the area. It is an ideal destination for families looking for a place where they can enjoy clean and fun Florida beaches, casual restaurants, and entertainment of all kinds. Water sports are abundant and there is something for everyone to enjoy, regardless of age.

Indian Rocks started out as a small weekend retreat in the 1920s, and even though it has gained tremendously in popularity, it has maintained a certain charm and quaintness that many people prefer as opposed to the larger tourist crowds than can be expected in much larger cities such as Tampa Bay and St Petersburg. It is possible to enjoy a quiet morning, afternoon, or evening of rest and relaxation under an umbrella with a nice drink and a book. It is also just as easy to take part in any number of awesome water sports and activities. Whatever suits your fancy, you will find it at Indian Rocks Beach.

The west side of Gulf Boulevard, which stretches north to south through Indian Rocks, is where you will find fine, white sandy beaches and a wide variety of vacation rentals. From cottages and villas to large homes that can accommodate any size family, there are many options from which to choose. There are also some beautiful high-rise condos that offer exhilarating views of the ocean. The eastern portion of the boulevard is more rugged and faces out toward the Intracoastal Waterway. There are several canals that weave throughout the selection of vacation homes and rentals. Even though the east side of the boulevard is not as pristine (in terms of sand) as the west, there are nonetheless many gorgeous rentals.

There is a full range of public facilities at Indian Rocks, including restrooms, changing rooms, and showers. You will also find parking (some of it is free) and places to rent gear and equipment. Even though many people choose this beach because of the convenient access to all of the attractions of the Tampa Bay Area, when you do visit, you may end up discovering a new favorite place of your own. There is a good reason why many people who vacation in this part of western Florida are repeat visitors. The charm of the small town and ease of access to the restaurants, nightlife, and other attractions in Tampa and the surrounding areas, make it an ideal option for many. And you will not necessarily have to travel far to find dining, shopping, and attractions to keep you busy right in Indian Rocks Beach. Even though there are fewer than 5,000 residents, the fact that it caters to large numbers of tourists means that you will not lack for anything, from guest accommodations to restaurants and bars.

Indian Rocks Beach Florida is a destination where you can enjoy both relaxation and a large number of fun activities that are suitable for the whole family.
