Best Brazil Beaches

Brazil Beaches
Brazil beaches present a magnificent landscape piquing the curiosity of millions. The best beaches in Brazil span over 8,000 miles of shoreline, providing a welcome avenue for escaping large, industrial cities, sprawling urban centers, and the bustle of everyday life. For Brazilians, beaches are an integral part of culture and visiting, especially on weekends, is one of the top ways to relax and enjoy life with family and friends. Brazil beach photos inspire and entice, with the visions themselves enough to draw people across the world to experience their resonating natural beauty.

Copacabana Beach

Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro is one of the Brazil’s most popular and most well-known beaches by far. While this is not the place to go if you want peace and quiet, it is an ideal beach to see and be seen. There are lots of fun things to do on and around Copacabana, too, including beach volleyball, beach bars and great nightlife, and an array of restaurants. There are many hotels in the Copacabana Beach neighborhood if you want to stay nearby.

Ipanema Beach

Glamorous Ipanema is the sister beach to Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro. Along with Copacabana, Ipanema Beach is home to the famous and extremely tiny Brazilian string bikini. Much like Copacabana as well, Ipanema is more than a beach and has many hotels, restaurants, and happening nightlife spots along the beach and in the surrounding neighborhood.

Pig’s Bay (Baía dos Porcos), Fernando de Noronha

Fernando de Noronha has all the elements of paradise. A meandering, volcanic, archipelago spanning almost 200 miles in the northeastern region, Pig’s Bay is one of three incredible Brazil beaches in the immediate vicinity. The surrounding environment is nothing short of gorgeous and, with excellent swimming conditions, is a great place for sea-lovers.

Jericoacoará, Ceara state

A hotspot for kitesurfing and windsurfing, Jericoacoara, to the west of Fortaleza, is a place where beaches extend as far as sunsets go. With an extensively preserved natural ecosystem, Jericoacoara is characterized by massive dunes, crystal-clear lakes, calm sea waves, and a national park.

Caraiva, Bahia

Caraiva is another of the most beautiful beaches in the country, often included in the best of Brazil beach photos. This mostly deserted stretch of beach is busiest in summer and even then fairly isolated. Walk a day in either direction and enjoy miles of beach, take in the shade of swaying almond trees, and swim along a shore of soft sand and sturdy surf.

Bonete, State of Sao Paulo

Bonete is one of the best beaches in Brazil within Sao Paulo state. With walk-in access for six miles through a coastal forest alongside waterfalls, the route is almost as good as the beach itself. Arrive to golden-hued sand and brilliant blue sea flanked by verdant forest and bask in the beauty before diving in for a swim, or taking on the waves via surfing. Enjoy camping or simple lodging options if leaving is as hard as most say it is.

Arpoador, Ipanema, Rio de Janeiro

Brazil beach photos show Arpoador as a well-loved extension of Ipanema. The cliffs at the end are both visually delightful and easy to climb for a beautiful view below. Walk the wood stairs down and hit the golden sand and clear water for bathing, body-boarding, and surfing. Or, dive in at night under the light of the beach lamps.

Lagoinha do Leste, Florianópolis

Along the south edge of the island of mountain-lined Florianopolis lies Lagoinha do Leste, one of the best beaches in Brazil. Reinforced by sand dunes, rainforest, a lake, sandbanks and a rugged coastline, this beach is ideal for a day trip or overnighter via camping.

Porto do Galinhas, Pernambuco

Pure, clean sand, safe swimming conditions fostered by inshore reefs, and plenty of natural swimming pools create a heavenly outlet for visitors and locals. Porto do Galinhas and Galinhas Beach feature these great pools where beach-goers can dive, swim, snorkel, and relax.

Lopes Mendes, Ilha Grande

Lopes Mendes sits on the Ilha Grande, defined by 1.5 miles of fine, white, pure sand expanding out to a clear blue ocean with a very gentle surf. Forget abundant infrastructure and instead enjoy the lack of buildings and the wealth almond and palm trees on one of the best beaches in Brazil.
