Brazil beach vacations don't have to be crowded, however. In fact, with thousands of miles of coastline, chances are good that you can find a secluded stretch of sand. The volcanic islands at Fernando de Noronha have dozens of pristine sandy beaches, and with restricted numbers of tourists, you can see plenty of wildlife: turtles, sharks, and hundreds of colorful fish. Praia do Toque has nine miles of powdery soft sand and a warm lagoon, and is close to a manatee refuge. Caraiva, Bahia is one of those beaches that haven’t yet been discovered by global tourism—you'll want to get to this quiet retreat before the rest of the world finds it.
