Kos beaches are some of the top highlights of this breathtaking Greek Island in the Southern Sporades. This group of islands is located in the Gulf of Gokova and is specifically situated two and a half miles from the west coast of Turkey. Kos Greece is a vacation destination where you can enjoy both a resort experience, including amazing beaches, resorts and hotels, and a host of water sports, as well as a cultured experience filled with great dining, wine, and exciting excursions and activities. Kos plays an important role in the history of the country in general. Its legend looms large in Greek culture, history, and mythology. There is something for everyone to enjoy on the island, including over twenty picturesque Greek beaches.
Mastichari Beach is located approximately fifteen miles southwest of Kos town and offers guests pristine sand and water and access to a host of beach amenities and activities, including great restaurants and taverns, shopping, and places to rent gear and equipment for windsurfing, diving, and much more. There are lifeguards on duty and public facilities. A small port at Mastichari offers daily transport to the island of Kalymnos where you can enjoy more pristine stretches of amazing coastline.
Thermes Beach may be the most distinctive on the island, because of its large rock formations, black pebbly beach, and most notably, the hot water. It takes less than ten minutes to get to Thermes from town and is well worth the visit. The stretches of this beach that are affiliated with hotels may offer lifeguards during certain hours, but generally, this is a beach where you will want to keep an eye on the kids, even as the surf is gentle and accommodating. There are a number of hotels nearby, as well as restaurants and places to shop. The popularity of this beach is based largely on its beauty and the novelty of the hot water and black pebbles. It is a beautiful beach to be sure. Remember to bring your camera along.
Marmari is just one more example of a perfectly pristine beach on Kos Greece. It is a very long stretch that features white sand and crystal blue water. Marmari is situated on the northern coast between two more popular destinations, Tigaki Beach and Mastichari Beach and less than fifteen minutes from the center of Kos town. There are plenty of restaurants, hotels, and shops where you can rent equipment for everything from boating and snorkeling to fishing and body boarding. Lifeguards are on duty and guests will enjoy access to comprehensive public facilities such as showers, changing rooms, and restrooms.
Paradise Beach may just be the most popular of all the beautiful Kos beaches, offering just about everything in the way of guest services and amenities, accommodations, activities, and entertainment. It is particularly popular in the summer. Guests have access to a full range of public facilities. Lifeguards are on duty and there are many places to enjoy food and beverages nearby. Paradise Beach is located about 20 minutes from Kos town and only a few short miles from another alluring hotspot, Kefalos.
