St Tropez

St. Tropez
St Tropez is a chic and sexy French destination, at least during the peak travel season, which runs from May to September. This is when the rich and famous pour into town looking to enjoy some sunshine and the St Tropez beaches. When the peak season ends, the town returns to its role as a relatively sedated port, and you will encounter more locals than you will tourists in the streets.

Tourism is the main industry in St Tropez, and the town owes much of its popularity to the area beaches. Close to the heart of town, the gold-sand beaches of Plage des Graniers and Plage de la Bouillabaisse provide fine places to swim for families and anybody else who appreciates the often-calm waters.

Other popular St Tropez beaches can be found along the Bay of Pampelonne just under two miles from town, and they are better suited for adults only. They include Plage de Pampelonne and Plage des Salins, which are often lined with parasols, and if you fancy extra liberal strips of sand where nudity is most common, you might check out Tahiti Beach. Nudity is actually quite prevalent at some of the St Tropez beaches on the Bay of Pampelonne, so may not be the most ideal family areas.

The beaches of St Tropez are widely considered to be the best along the French Riviera. This has a lot to do with their variety and overall beauty. At some, various watersports, such as diving, sailing, and windsurfing can be enjoyed and rental equipment is available, so you can more than swim and sunbathe if you wish.
