Panama Beaches

Panama Beaches
Panama beaches are found in abundance, both on the mainland and on the thousands of outlying island on the Pacific and Caribbean sides of the country. The beaches on the Panama mainland are sadly not in the greatest condition. Much of the coastline is comprised of mudflats and the sand and shoreline is not protected in many areas. That said, there are numerous gorgeous beaches in Panama. The fact just happens to be that you will find the great majority of them on the outlying islands. This is where the pristine beaches are to be found. The good news is that there is a plethora from which to choose. There are some 1,000 islands on the Pacific side and around 500 on the Caribbean side.

Another attraction, the Isla Bastimentos National Park is a nature lover’s paradise, offering a white sandy beach, lush jungle, and a visually stunning coral reef. Swimming, snorkeling, and sunbathing are all favorite activities on this lazy beach where you can truly explore nature.

Other top beaches can be found in Coiba National Park, the Las Perlas Archipelago, Santa Clara, and Farallon Beach. It is definitely worth a mention that you should always swim with caution in Panama. Panama is notorious for its intense riptides, so even if the signs say that it is okay to swim, you still want to exercise extreme caution.
