Aguadilla is one of the best beach vacation destinations that you will find in Puerto Rico. Located on the northwest coast of Puerto Rico, this town provides access to immaculate strips of sand. Some of the beaches in Aguadilla are world-class surfing hangouts. You can also snorkel and scuba dive at some of the beaches in and around town or try your hand at some windsurfing or kite-boarding.
Cliffs back many strips of sand in and around Aguadilla Puerto Rico, and this lends to the overall beauty of the area. Guajataca Beach, which is found along the Quebradillas coast, is especially known for its jagged cliffs. Strong currents make this a beach that isn't ideal for swimming, though it’s great for surfers. Smooth sands beckon people who just want to kick back and soak up some sun, so it's not all about surfing. Also, a restaurant and bar is on hand.
Other Aguadilla beaches that are popular with visitors are Crash Boat Beach and Wilderness Rule Beach. At Crash Boat, part of the beach is protected and calm, while the other part is not and has rougher conditions. The calmer beach area caters to divers and snorkelers, and you might also head here to do some windsurfing and kite-boarding. It's the best spot in the Aguadilla area for these wind-powered pursuits.
As its name would imply, Wilderness Rule Beach has a very natural appeal. It is also known for its surfing, as is true of Crash Boat Beach and another Aguadilla beach that is called Gas Chambers. November through March is the prime surfing season, while summer is better for snorkeling and windsurfing.
When you're not enjoying the Aguadilla beaches, there will plenty of other fun ways to spend your time. A side trip to the Rio Camuy Cave Park can be very rewarding, for example, and Aguadilla is home to a golf course and a water park, among other things. It is also home to the Rafael Hernandez Airport, which is the second-busiest international airport in Puerto Rico, so getting there is pretty much a breeze.
Crashboat Beach in Aguadilla certainly has a memorable name and definitely unforgettable surf. Crashboat Beach is one of the most popular for surfing.
