There is a snack bar here, changing rooms, and a patrolled parking lot. Lifeguards are on duty. The beach is closed on Tuesdays.
San San Beach
San San Beach is a private beach located near Frenchman’s Cove in Port Antonio. The beach is long but somewhat narrow and features several nice offshore reefs that are perfect for snorkeling and swimming. There are lifeguards on duty and public facilities for those using the associated accommodations.
Boston Beach does not offer much in the way of sandy beach where you can lay out, but it is notable for its good surfing conditions. It is also a great place to enjoy some local culture, especially Caribbean fare like jerk pork and chicken. Music and good times abound around this cool beach in Port Antonio. Swim and surf at your own risk. There are no lifeguards on duty here, as there are no accommodations in the immediate area.
Long Bay Beach
Long Bay Beach is a very popular destination in the eastern part of Port Antonio. It is a perfect place for water sports and activities as well as relaxing and sunbathing because of the long stretches of white sand. Swimming is not usually allowed here because of the strong undertow, but there are many more reasons to visit this particular beach. The beach is lined with cool Tiki hut bars and island eateries shaded by swaying palms. You can order a drink at one of the bars and sip it on the beach. The beaches are not usually guarded, although there are signs designating the status of the water conditions. Be sure to try some of the seafood and local Caribbean dishes at the restaurants that line this beach. There are plenty of places to stay within close proximity of Long Bay Beach. Those who like shopping on vacation will find some fun crafts stores in this area as well.
