Cabarete

Cabarete is a resort destination on the northeastern coast of the Dominican Republic. Much of the viable coastline of the Dominican Republic has been built up into recent years and now much of it bustles with the activity of huge resorts and luxury hotels. One of the distinctive advantages to staying at Cabarete is that you will not be overrun with tourist traffic. Many of the guest accommodations are not all inclusive, so people tend to get out of the hotel more and explore the town. There are over three miles of beautiful sandy beaches to enjoy in this part of the Dominican Republic.

Although Cabarete is perhaps best known for beach related sports like windsurfing, it is also a great place for families with small children to be able to enjoy the beach in a tranquil environment. The hotels that are situated right on the beach offer public facilities, including restrooms and changing rooms, sports equipment rentals, and lifeguards. There are a good number of restaurants, bars, and surf shops in town and some of the resorts are also located a bit off of the beach. Most of these accommodations offer complimentary shuttle service to and from the beach.

Playa Dorado, Sosua, and Playa Grande are the three closest other resort destinations. Making it to Cabarete from Playa Dorada, for instance, is an easy 40-minute drive. During the evenings, many of the restaurants in Cabarete place tables on the beach, providing for an exceptional and picturesque dining experience. You can enjoy wonderful seafood while taking in vistas of the ocean as the sun sets. Cabarete is just one of many gorgeous beaches located in this part of the Dominican Republic.
