Boca Chica is a resort town on the southern coast of the Dominican Republic. It is a hugely popular choice for people visiting this country, as it is situated fewer than ten miles from the capital city of Santo Domingo. Boca Chica is home to many luxury hotels and resorts, as well as a huge selection of restaurants, bars, clubs, and places to see music and other entertainment.
The beach at Boca Chica is one of the most picturesque on the southern coast. The reef-protected waters allow people to wade out up to 100 yards into crystal clear water without submerging beyond the waist. The sand is white and powdery and is comfortable on the toes. The beach is sometimes referred to as a shopping beach, but the more accurate description is that it is a beautiful beach where you run the risk of being annoyed by vendors. If you are in the mood for shopping, you will find no shortage of trinkets, jewelry, clothing, and pretty much anything else you can imagine that fits into a suitcase or on the back of a bike to purchase.
There are a wide variety of options for things to do at Boca Chica Beach. People often enjoy jet skiing, horseback riding, parasailing, and that is just the beginning. Or you can simply lie back and relax on the beach. There are public facilities including bathrooms and showers, and all of the hotels and resorts offer pools and showers to rinse off before coming off of the beach.
Being this close to Santo Domingo, a city of approximately 3 million people, means that there are also endless activities just a short cab ride away. From nightclubs to restaurants, you’ll find something that appeals to everyone in your group. There are also several more fine beaches nearby, including Embassy Beach, just ten minutes away.
