Philippines Beaches

Philippines beaches are scattered throughout more than 7,000 islands near top cities like Manila and Davao City and in sparsely populated areas. The often high-cost of getting here is easily offset by the low-cost of staying. The Philippines have been acclaimed for stunning beaches for decades yet there are plenty of sandy stretches still undiscovered by tourists today. Scuba diving and snorkeling uncover some of the best underwater landscapes in the world while the sand is touted as some of the finest.

Beginning in the north, many of the best beaches in the Philippines are based on and near Luzon mainland, home to Manila—a bustling metropolis that is the most common point of entry to these islands from abroad. In the east, Pangasinan’s 100 Islands National Park is a big draw, and for the most dedicated beach-lover, offers sun, sand, and sea in the most isolated backdrops.

One of the best beaches in the Philippines is Boracay without doubt. Cool water combined with soft, white sand and a laid back atmosphere perfect for leaving all worries behind. Located in central Philippines, Boracay Island is just 190 miles south of Manila. Boracay is joined by Puerto Galera on Mindoro Island, and several beaches on Cebu—including Bounty Beach on Malapascua Island (often called the new Boracay) and Bantayan Beach—comprising the best centrally located spots.

Heading farther south, the accumulation of pristine beaches grows. Palawan province is home to Honda Bay, one of the best Philippines beaches located on one of many regional islands. Diving, swimming, island hopping, and fishing take the strongest lead in favorite activities. The resort of Pearl Farm no longer offers pearls but hands out ample doses of sun and white sand, in a relaxing spot within Davao City.
